The employee was assessing an operations tool that was not functioning properly. After assessing multiple lines it was deemed a wire had been partially cut by the production glass requiring a new connection be made to resume production. Employee was pulling and removing the insulated wire and preparing to cut the wire so a new connection could be made.

Employee attempted to cut the wire with a pocket knife in an upward direction. With this motion employee cut through the wire with the blade continuing to his hand and lacerated the left palm of the employees hand.

Employee suffered a laceration to the left upper palm.
