Assisting other nurses so that the primary nurse could give an IM injection to help calm combative patient.

At [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] there was an incident with patient in [REDACTED] He had a VBPA and was combative and agitated. There were several of us in there to help so that the nurse could give an IM shot of [REDACTED]. The patient had dug his nail into my wrist but was very minor and didn 't hurt. When i freed myself from that he pulled on my right wrist yanking my right shoulder pretty bad. At the time i had literally no pain. [REDACTED] after the incident I started having severe pain in my right shoulder pain. I went to my orthopedic doctor and he did an xray. I received a cortisone injection for pain and I have a sling on. He recommended an MRI which i have scheduled for [REDACTED] because he said it looks like there is a problem with my rotator cuff.
