Before the incident
Transferring patient back to cart after completing surgery.
What happened
We were transferring the patient from the operating room table to the patient cart after completing her surgery. The patient was still in a semi sitting position. I was on the patient 's right side (cart side) and was tasked with pulling patient across the PATRAN. On first attempt the patient did not budge at all. We tried one more time with an extra person on the patient 's left to push more effectively I braced myself in a squatted position up against the cart and pulled with all of my strength. I then felt a rip in my left groin.
