Associate turned around and began exiting their workstation when their foot came into contact with a cart.

What happened

Confirmation associate tripped over a cart and fell to the floor resulting in pain to their left wrist. At the time of the injury the associate was working at the QC desk in confirmation and as they turned around and began exiting their workstation their foot came into contact with a flat cart that was behind them which caused them to trip and fall. The associate arrived at start of shift to a workstation that was overfilled with boxes on the conveyor. In order to bring the overflow product closer to their workstation the associate took the cart out of 5S and up onto the ergo mat placing the product just to the side of them. This act was outside of their standard work and not something the associate typically does. As the associate turned away they were distracted by a jam on the conveyor adjacent to them forgetting that they placed the cart in their work area they tripped over it resulting in a fall.
