Employee worker doing checks prior to shift starting. They were sent to check a strange noise on Line 7 coding conveyor. One employee removed guard while machine was running. The other employee pulled up on chain with L. middle finger

While troubleshooting noise from Line 7 finger was caught in the chain (after safety cover was removed). Individual was taken to the ER.

Left middle finger tip amputation when employee placed finger on chain while machine was running and guard had been removed.

Conveyor made noise. Employee lifted up on chain while guard was off and running. Chain pulled finger into sprocket.
