The employee was setting up the railing for polishing. Using the roper tool he finished one side pulling toward the stand fixture. Started 2nd side pulling part belt away from the fixture.

While polishing 2nd side of the railing the part fell off of the stand and the roper tool made contact with the left middle finger resulting in a laceration.
