Before the incident
Employee was preparing the Edgetech saw so he could place a countertop in it. His right hand was holding one of the clamps.
What happened
He flipped the switch to lower the clamps but did not realize that the clamps were already lowered. When he flipped the switch the clamps actually raised instead and his finger was caught in the clamp.
Injury or illness
His right thumb was squeezed causing a laceration. The injury required 9 stitches. There will be a follow-up to determine if orthopedic damage was done.
