What happened
I was cleaning the patient 's room I grabbed the syringe with the needle exposed and put it in the sharps container. She sharps container opening got stuck and needle bounced back to stab my right hand tip of thumb. The sharps container is not full someti mes the lips get stuck. no medication was in the syringe patient was not there anymore. there also is not safety caps on the 27 gauge needles.
