Before the incident
The employee was in the process of setting minor beams between the two outer runners of a skid.
What happened
The injured employee and two coworker were in the process of setting minor beams between two outer runners of a skid. employee one was working the crane in order to lower the beam in the proper position. employee two was responsible for using a rubber mallet to drive the minor beam in between the two outer runners. The injured employee was suppose to hold the C-Clamp attached to end of the minor beam to keep the beam from swaying or moving in order to keep the minor beam steady and directly over the position it was being placed in. As employee two began to strike to top of the minor beam the injured employee moved his hand from the C-Clamp to the top minor beam. At this point employee two struck the injured employee on his right index finger between the index finger and middle finger.
