Jump starting a battery
What happened
Employee was jump starting a vehicle with a bad battery. The hood was supported by gas charged hood struts. The vehicle was started and remained in park. As employee was disconnecting the jump box from the battery gas struts failed and the hood fell and struck employee on the top of his head. He did not immediately report the matter as he thought it was insignificant event. Over the [REDACTED] the effects did not diminish. It was at that point he brought it to our attention
