Opening compactor door

While driver was opening the compactor door he put the handle into the above handle holder and failed to recognize the handle was not secured correctly in the handle holder. When he attempted to push the door open with his right hand the handle fell making contact with his left hand hitting 2 of his fingers. Driver immediately contacted the lead on duty and requested to go to our clinic. After the x-ray no broken bones just a small laceration on each finger. He was prescribed pain medication for the pain and swelling.
