Before the incident
Adjusting electrical cords and equipment in surgical suite
What happened
First felt the pain when standing up from squatting to move electrical cords and equipment. I kept working because the pain was tolerable. I later had to carry a surgical instrument tray to the surgical suite. I felt worse pain in my low back while walking with the tray. I set the tray down in the surgical suite and stepped out of the suite to speak to my charge. The pain shot down my legs and I doubled over in pain down to the floor. I was unable to stand up straight or walk. A coworker found me on leaning against the wall and got me a rolling chair and the charge nurse.
