Before the incident
Employee reports getting her coat off hanger to leave bent over to pick up coat and liquid from shelf above coat rack dripped on her head and arm.
What happened
There was a dark purple liquid on shelf above coat rack but no source of where it came from. Director found pop bottle in empty trash can with same liquid in it but the bottom of pop bottle had disinigrated from the substance. Employee reports not having any idea of pop bottle. This occured in a locked laundry room with only staff access. Fire Department dispatched area evacuated. Substance tested and confirmed sulfuric acid. Fire Department assisted with clean up. Employee treated on site with medics and went to ER for treatment.
