What happened
The PCA and I were assisting patient from bedside commode back to bed using walker and gait belt. Patient attempted to stand up from bedside commode several times with help but unsuccessful. I was standing in front of patient and using the gait belt to help pull patient up. Patient was unable to stand up all the way and in turn I had to pull patient up by myself. PCA was unable to help due to the commode being in the way as she was behind the patient. I hurt my upper back while transferring the patient.
