Before the incident
Associate was operating their MHE. They were waiting for a battery change in the battery change area.
What happened
A battery Changing Operator was changing the battery on a forklift. He noticed that the battery wasn t properly seated in the compartment. As he began to back out the battery the forklift operator standing in the area reached their hand between the battery and forklift to reposition a spacer. The battery exiting the forklift shifted and caught two of the associate s fingers between the battery and forklift.
