Occupational therapy evaluation

EE transferred the patient to the edge of the bed with assist of another nurse. Once PT was at the edge of the bed PT began retropulsing and the brakes on the bed were in locked position yet the bed was moving away from the patient as PT was pushing backwards. EE called abother nurse in to assist and we got the patient in the wheelchair safely but EE strained my lower back as I was unable to use proper body mechanics due to the sliding bed. EE notified the nurse manager and they filed a work order on the bed and took it out of commission. They took an un used bed with working brakes and gave the patient the new bed. Once this was done EE texted the manager and filed an incident report under equipment failure. EE shifted schedule up in order to go home early and rest in hopes back would feel better the [REDACTED] however it did not.
