What happened

Team member was using a Klever Kutter (safety knife) to remove a zip tie from a piece of wire in the cut area. Team member went to the cut area to help complete sample cuts. This is not an everyday task for this team member. Team member was holding the wire in left hand and the safety knife in the right hand. Team member was not wearing safety gloves while cutting toward the body the safety knife cut through the zip tie and hit the middle finger on the left hand causing a laceration. First responders were notified and performed first aid by applying antibiotic ointment and a bandage. Team member stated they did not want treatment from a hospital or urgent care facility. Team member went to urgent care and received a prescription antibiotic the following day.
