Fixing piping on the filter press.

Employee was working near the filter press fixing piping. The piping was in the pit and it was easier to access from the walkway above. He placed cardboard over the lip of the walkway and laid on the ground resting his rib cage on the cardboard which was over the lip of the walkway. While fixing the pipe his body weight was on his ribs which were pushing into the lip of the walkway. [REDACTED] heard a crack and felt pain in his ribs. He notified his supervisor right away and went to Concentra. Concentra confirmed via x-ray that the ribs were not broken.
