What happened
While disposing the used butterfly needle into the sharps container she picked up the wrapper and alcohol pads with gloves still on. When removing her gloves her right middle finger was punctured by a gray coated needle (the part that is normally in the vacutainer) that was mixed in with her trash. She immediately washed bandaged and held pressure.
