What happened
Employee was working in the paint shop area he was unpacking and assembling some equipment. He was using a snap-off blade type razor knife to cut open boxes while attempting to cut one of the boxes open the knife slipped causing him to cut his finger on the opposite hand. Employee was not wearing any type of gloves at the time of the incident and had the cut hand in an unsafe position while cutting the box. Snap off blade type razor knives will not be allowed going forward and will be replaced with the retractable safety handle type knives. Employees will be trained to wear cut resistant gloves when handling any type of knife.
