A 4 wide 1825 lb coil was placed on the red coil chock to pre-stage it for the upcoming coil change. The crane dropped 13.75 below the lifting point of the ID of the coil allowing slack in the sling. The slack allowed the coil to build up enough energy to force half of the sling off the crane hook allowing the coil to fall on the employee 's left foot.
