What happened

EE stated that he thought the injury happened approx. [REDACTED]. EE saw a doctor on [REDACTED] at the [REDACTED] walk-in clinic who could not find anything. EE was not satisfied with that answer and continued to have pain so EE scheduled an appt. with Dr. [REDACTED] on [REDACTED]. This appt. resulted in being told that EE has a hernia. EE called in to work [REDACTED] and notified his supervisor of this who then directed him to reach out to HR. EE told me the sequence of events and then stated that he was waiting on a phone call to schedule a CT scan and surgery. I advised him that he will need to be seen by Occupational Health for next steps. EE cannot recall any specific heavy lifting but stated that he does not lift anything remotely heavy outside of work so this must be a work-related injury.
