Before the incident
En route to combination boiler stepping off elevator.
What happened
The Powerhouse was informed of a possible smolder on the Combination Boiler. A Powerhouse Assistant Operator went to inspect the area. After the elevator reached the 6th floor the Assist. Operator stepped out of the elevator doors as a gust of wind blew and subsequently irritating his eye. The Assist. Operator attempted to blink the irritation out of his eye as he found the smoldering bark. The Assist. Operator washed out his eye at the local eyewash station and reported the incident to his PLO. He went to medical where a mill EMT evaluated and provided treatment. The following day the Assist. Operator continued to feel irritation in his eye reported back to medical for treatment and sent to Urgent Care for further treatment.
