Delivering mail on foot.

Employee was just starting his walking loop and delivered to the front door of [REDACTED] when he turned around came down the private walk turned left on the sidewalk and slipped on the very very icy sidewalk resulting in a broken leg. He called the supervisor for help and she called him an ambulance and drove out to him right away. [REDACTED] also called another carrier because he knew he was close on the next block over because he was unable to move and had other carrier collect the mail that was blowing away and to stay with him until help arrived. Supervisors arrived around the same time as ambulance and the EMTs got Carrier in a cast and to the hospital. All together Carrier was probably on the ground 20 to 25 minutes.
