[REDACTED] letter carrier was attempting to deliver mail to a house walk up mail slot delivery at [REDACTED] and heard a dog barking. The carrier new the a dog was at this address and always barks but the dog has never got loose. The carrier did not have a warning card on file and he does not have a scanner alert reported to management. While the carrier moved forward to put the mail in the slot the black lab slipped through the fence from the left of the carrier and bit the carrier on the back on his right calf breaking the skin.
