EE sustained needle stick to left thumb while drawing blood from patient with butterfly needle. Pulled out needle from patient and stuck finger. Had not activated safety before removing needle. Wore a pair of gloves. Noticed small pinpoint but no blood. Washed hands and followed up in ED.
