Delivering mail to customer

About [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] carrier was approaching [REDACTED] and two men were working I put the mail in their mailbox and I turned because of the sound of dog steps. The Pitbull beige bit at mu bag and hand with mail. I fell to the ground and put my hand in his mouth to stop him from biting my face. The dog continued his attack by biting my right lower thigh. At this time the two owners got in front of their dog and I got up bleeding from my leg and hand. I called [REDACTED] and my immediate supervisor.
