Looking at mail before attempting delivery.

At my last stop on my route I was closing the driver side door when I remembered I needed to go back to a customer who was having her vacation hold mail and a parcel delivered that [REDACTED] but she wasn 't home earlier. I thought I would check if she came home on my way back to the office. The truck was still parked I had my hand on the door frame to look back at the mail. That was when the door rolled shut on my finger. I saw that my finger had a cut on it but it wasn 't bleeding at the time. As I stated driving it started to bleed so I wrapped it with a paper towel. The customer still wasn 't home so her neighbor offered to hold it at his house. I left a note in her mailbox and came back to the office. I went straight to talk to you.
