The carrier was serving mail at a mailbox when a driver came up behind going at a very fast speed. The driver slammed into the back of the [REDACTED] sending the carrier downhill several hundred feet. The carrier was hit so hard he became unconscious. The [REDACTED] coasted downhill just missing a light pole by 3 feet and then ran into the side of a parked car in a driveway. If it hadn’t had been for this parked car he would have gone through the house. I got to the scene right as [REDACTED] was put into the ambulance. The paramedics said he had a concussion and kept blacking out. I talked to him as they were setting him in the stretcher. He was still somewhat incoherent but he did know who I was. [REDACTED] was taken by ambulance to [REDACTED] Hospital [REDACTED] at [REDACTED]. I contacted his fiancé that went to the hospital. Several tests were performed at the hospital.
