cleaning removing trash recycle

On [REDACTED] I was in the Clinic at the second nurses ' station and removing a clear plastic bag from the green slim jim can that is labeled and holds recycling and is next to the black slim jim trash can which has a black liner and trash and I removed the clear bag from the recycling can and felt a puncture I looked and there was a pink and white sharps not packaged and loose mixed in with the recycling that had punctured my left index finger tip right on the pad of the finger. I went to the lab and spoke with [REDACTED] the lab tech and showed him the sharps and told him what happened. No one was with me when I was injured because I work at night in the clinic and cancer care alone. I went to the ED and asked for help and told them what happened. The first nurse I saw was [REDACTED] and she said she was unsure how to proceed or process a workplace injury. The sharps was or is similar to a [REDACTED] nexiva closed IV catheter system single port
