What happened
Employee was pulling a power feed through assembly through the side wall Carbide furnace #6. Employee was grasping the L shaped section of the assembly and as the remainder of the assembly was clearing the bricks the unsupported weight caused the fasteners connecting this section to fail causing employee 's hand to continue moving until it came in contact with the opposite wall of the furnace pinching his hand.
