The employee climbed onto the hitch of the pickup truck then onto the tailgate.

The employee climbed onto the hitch of the pickup truck then onto the tailgate. The tailgate was not latched and it opened from underneath him. The employee fell about 4 feet to the ground landing on his back left shoulder and head. This was an unsafe act by the employee. The correct way to get into the truck is to open up the tailgate lower it get on it and ride it up. The employee did not follow this process.
