Before the incident
On a ladder changing out a light.
What happened
Using a voltage indicator the employee checked the light circuit for power and it showed no voltage. They proceeded to disconnect the old light. They removed a glove to get a piece of tape and then began wiring up the light. When they began stripping out the hot wire they received a shock across their left hand. To break free from the shock they had to drop from the ladder. While dropping from the ladder their left leg became entangled in the ladder rung. As their body hit the floor their left leg remained stuck in the ladder breaking their leg.
