EE was operating a forklift.
What happened
EE was operating a forklift unloading a container in dock door 3. Trailer safety equipment was removed from the wrong trailer. After equipment was removed switcher attached to the trailer unbeknownst to him it was being unloaded. Forklift operator was in the process of backing out of the trailer with a load when the trailer was pulled away from the dock. The forklift fell from the trailer into the edge of the dock. The switcher stopped short catching the forklift in the gap. Nearby employees rushed to assist the operator and clear him from the accident site. Employee injured shoulder in the process resulting in medical treatment and restrictions. The EE injured his left shoulder during the incident. It is unclear if the injury was sustained from the fall or the extrication from the forklift to safety.
