Before the incident
EE attempted to return the patient from the wheelchair to the patients bed using the scoot pivot transfer which was done without difficulty. EE cued the patient to start scooting but instead the patient stood up and started transferring on the wrong side causing EE to become unbalanced. EE used his left foot to push off to ensure the patient landed safely on the bed. Throughout the day EE started having pain in his right foot.
