While grinding a block to achieve the desired part finishing qaulification the technician was adjusting angles using a running belt sander. During this process a kick-back occurred resulting in the technician 's finger to be trapped under the block and sustain a laceration from the sharp edge.

Following medical examination from a MD the medical report stated a unspecified wound to the left little finger without any damage to the nail.
