He had taken off his heat gloves to exchange them for latex gloves so he could check the level of dye in his pot. He forgot he had removed his heat gloves. He made a quick decision to reach around and check the cure of the hot polyurethane part he 'd just poured. The part was still very much hot liquid. It is not common practice to check the cure with your hand. A tool is to be used.
