Patient with known dementia. Had been becoming verbally and physically aggressive with staff wandering the unit and disrupting patient care. Security called to assist. On call hospitalist paged for PRN medication. Order was received for IM [REDACTED]. Injured employee was administering IM injection to patient while myself and 2 other staff members tried to hold patient still for patient and staff safety. Patient did grab and twist right wrist of Eployee. No immediate signs of injury warranting employee to seek medical attention at this time. Ice was applied.
