Employee was degassing a crucible and attempting to skim the impurities with the skimming spoon.
What happened
The employee was unaware the spoon was recently painted and had not completely dried. When they stuck the spoon into the aluminum the paint reacted with the aluminum and caused it to splash out of the crucible and onto the employee.
