Before the incident
IW was using a benchtop stationary 10 inch sanding disc to sand off metal burrs on flat bar components after they had been cut by a bandsaw.
What happened
While grinding the burrs off of the flatbar using the stationary 10 inch sanding disc a piece of flatbar pulled from the IW left hand and into the disc. The IW reached to grab the piece of flatbar to prevent it from being caught when their gloved hand was pulled into the machine.

Partial amputation of two digits in their left hand; ring finger and middle finger.
