Before the incident
Employee was walking behind a job box while the lid was being opened to get to another adjacent job box.
What happened
The job box the employee was walking behind had a faulty broken lift assist shock absorber for the lid. As the lid was being opened to address the broken shock for repairs the weight was too much for the other worker to hold and it fell over the opposite side striking the injured employee on the hard hat and pushed them into the other job box where their face contacted the corner of the metal job box resulting in a laceration to their face along the right edge of their nose.
