Before the incident
EE was building at the [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] LHF when their left thumb came into contact with one of the plastic heat stake posts on the Bside of the arm rest bezel component while attaching it to the door panel component in the stations nest The force of pushing the tabs of the door panel around the heat stake post were sufficient that when the heat stake contacted the individuals thumb it scraped and caused a cut to the palm side of the thumb The individual was treated with first aid on site and after the cut continued to bleed through a gauze wrap the ERT team sent the individual to Holland Hospital The hospital provided would closure via a surgical glue bandage and covered with an AlumaFoam splint The hospital released the individual without any restrictions and guidance to bend the thumb as little as possible The EE returned to work and completed their shift
