Employee was removing the end cover from the rotary airlock with a flat head screw driver

As the employee was in the process of removing the rotary airlock end cover the end cover came loose and fell. The employee attempted to catch the end cover (weighing ~30lb) with his left hand. In doing so the cover struck his palm and the back of his hand struck another peice of equipment (rotor) which was on the work table below resulting in injury.
