Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees performing adjustment work on the boards inside the fixtures in Department #214 were exposed to the hazards of crushing injuries if a fixture lid should fall and/or a fracture if the employee should fall from the fixture while riding the fixture on the conveyor while conveyor was in motion. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to take the fixture completely out of operation while adjustments are made to the boards.
