free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to
the potential for severe lacerations from a radial saw with a blade
which travels beyond the edge of the table:
a) Fabrication Building, Buffing Room - Dewait 16-inch radial arm saw,
Model number 40022, used for cutting aluminum, on or about May 26,
1989.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to install an adjustable stop on the saw to prevent the blade
from traveling beyond the position necessary to complete the cut.
