Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Midas Muffler Inc. 2702 4th Ave. N.: On or about 1-15-90 and at times prior thereto employees were exposed to the hazard of being crushed while being permitted to work under #2 automotive hoist when safety latches are not working properly. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to adjust safety latches to latch on all 4 corners of the hoist at the same time.
