Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and place of employment which was free
from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or
serious physical harm to the employees in that the employees were exposed
to crushing injuries from loads on the tower cranes located in the yard
area at the rear of the plant.  The tower cranes were not being maintained
according to the manufacturers recommendations of the ANSI B30.3
(Hammerhead Tower Cranes) safety standard.
Among other methods one feasible and acceptable method to correct the
hazard is to have the tower cranes maintained according to the
manufacturers recommendations.
