Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were potentially exposed to substantial risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne diseases: a. Care Haven of Sistersville - Nurses required to give patients injections of, but not limited to insulin, had not received a hepatitis B vaccination, on or about January 23, 1992. A feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to provide the Hepatitis B vacinnation at no cost to all employees who have occupational exposure to blood.
