Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to:
(a)  Crushing injuries from falling trusses due to
inadequate bracing practices, on or about August 3rd 1992
employees were standing on and working below wooden parallel
card scissor trusses in preparation for plywood sheeting
without adequate bracing to insure the structural integrity
at 1079 Uncochief Circle, Steamboat Springs, CO. 80488.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of
abatement to correct the hazard is:
1.  To install an adequate number of braces (constructed of
proper materials) at designated locations as directed in the
Truss Plate Institute Publication BWT-76 Braching Wood
Trusses:  Commentary and Recommendations as supplied on site
by the manufacture of above trusses (Advanced Component

abatement to correct this hazard is:
1.  To follow the Truss Plate Institute publication
BWT76
Bracing Wood Trusses:  "Commentary and Recommendations"
that was provided to the employer during the delivery of
trusses.  This publication addresses the need to evenly
distribute loads of plywood.  The construction load should
be limited to 8 sheets of plywood on any pair of trusses and
should be located adjacent to the
