Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about April 1, 1988, the employer did not protect his employees from the recognized hazard of being struck or crushed by the collapse of a rig mast for which the mast guy wires and anchors were not installed in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and industry practices. One feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to follow manufacturer's recommendations and industry practices of putting out all four crown to ground guy lines and where needed, the two tubing board to ground guy lines.
